The European Union's AI Act has overcome its last major obstacle on the path to becoming law. Following unanimous approval from all 27 EU Member State representatives, the risk-based plan for regulating artificial intelligence applications is now poised for adoption. This development marks a significant step forward after extensive negotiations and political agreements.

Here’s the showdown:

1️⃣ Prohibited AI Uses: 

The AI Act outlines prohibited uses, focusing on unacceptable risks. For instance, AI for social scoring is deemed inappropriate. This regulation provides a clear framework to prevent misuse.

2️⃣ Governance for High-Risk Uses: 

Governance rules are established for high-risk AI applications, ensuring they align with health, safety, fundamental rights, environment, democracy, and the rule of law. Transparency requirements are imposed on AI chatbots.

3️⃣ Exclusion of Low-Risk Applications: 

Low-risk AI applications fall outside the law's scope. This ensures that less risky AI technologies are not burdened by extensive regulatory measures.

4️⃣ Unanimous Support: 

All 27 EU Member States ambassadors unanimously backed the final text, dispelling concerns that opposition, particularly from France, could derail the regulation. This collective support enhances the regulation's credibility and acceptance.

The Bottom Line:

With the EU's AI Act on the verge of adoption, a harmonized regulatory framework for AI applications is imminent. The unanimous backing from Member States signals a united front in addressing potential risks. As the Act comes into force, it promises a balanced approach, fostering innovation while safeguarding against misuse.

This was fine too, as it understood what was needed, so now we want to go slightly more context-heavy, and this is where it got tricky. 

Assuming it was due to copyright concerns, we tweaked the prompt a bit and tried again and it worked really well:

An interesting thing though was that it automatically generated an Indian-looking version of the person (because of the location of the device when generated?)

Either way, what it all finally comes down to is that this is a great addition to Bard’s capabilities and you should check it out! Its understanding is amazing and the results are clearly seen.
