• To create an avatar, users will type “Imagine me” with a description of the setting in Meta AI chat, or use “@Meta AI imagine me…” in other WhatsApp conversations.
  

• This feature is optional and must be manually enabled in WhatsApp settings. Users can delete reference images anytime through Meta AI settings.
  

• There is no confirmed release date for the Imagine AI selfie feature. Currently, WhatsApp is rolling out support for its Meta AI chatbot and real-time AI image generation in the US, indicating that the new AI avatar feature might take some time before becoming widely available.

This feature supports the trend of personalized digital experiences, enhancing user engagement by allowing them to create unique avatars.
